dc.descriptionThis research aims to enrich the general dentist's knowledge by demonstrating the basic initial management and surgical treatment of different types of injuries. For this purpose, articles and books on plastic surgery and anatomy by various authors were reviewed. Lip injuries not only cause aesthetic compromise but also alterations in phonation, swallowing, oral hygiene, and facial expression. Therefore, it is considered necessary to understand the preoperative and surgical management of different types of injuries. In the case of chemical burns, where systemic toxicity is determined by the characteristics of the agent and the duration of exposure, neutralizing agents can reduce the aftereffects. When the patient has suffered contusive, abrasive, and/or lacerated trauma, immediate tissue confrontation and antibiotic administration are important to reduce the risk of infection. Surgical treatment of these injuries depends on the aesthetic compromise, preoperative management, and other factors such as age, sex, type of injury, and size. In the case of electrical burns, three main approaches prevail: recession and early reconstruction, secondary healing and delayed reconstruction, and the use of splints. Secondary healing prevails, regardless of the use of splints and delayed reconstruction. In the treatment of thermal burns, the following can be used: vestibular mucosal flaps, wedge excision and Z-plasty, muscle flaps, and commissuroplasty. It is important to reduce psychological, aesthetic, and functional sequelae in patients with good preoperative and surgical management.
dc.description.abstractLa investigación pretende enriquecer los conocimientos del odontólogo General mostrando el manejo inicial básico y tratamiento quirúrgico de los diferentes tipos de lesión. Para esto fueron revisados artículos y libros de cirugía plástica y anatomía de diferentes autores. En las lesiones de labio no solo se ve compromiso estético sino alteraciones en la fonación, deglución, higiene oral y expresión facial. Por esto se cree necesario conocer el manejo prequirúrgico y quirúrgico de los diferentes tipos de lesión. En el caso de las quemaduras químicas en que la toxicidad sistémica se encuentra determinada por las características del agente y el tiempo de exposición, con ayuda de neutralizantes es posible disminuir las secuelas, cuando el paciente a sufrido un trauma de tipo contusivo, abrasivo y/o lacerado es importante el confrontamiento inmediato de los tejidos y la medicación de antibióticos para disminuir el riesgo de infección. El tratamiento quirúrgico de estas lesiones dependen del compromiso estético, del manejo prequirúrgico y de otros factores como edad, sexo, tipo de lesión, tamaño de la lesión. Cuando son quemaduras eléctricas prevalecen tres corrientes recesión y reconstrucción temprana, cicatrización secundaria y reconstrucción tardía y uso de férulas. Prevaleciendo la cicatrización Secundaria con el uso o no de férulas y reconstrucción tardía. En el tratamiento de las quemaduras térmicas pueden ser utilizados los colgajos de Mucosa Vestibular Excisión en cuña y Z - plastia, colgajos musculares y comisuroplastia. Es importante disminuir las secuelas Psicológicas, estéticas y funcionales en los pacientes con un buen manejo Prequirúrgico y quirúrgico.
