This work seeks to highlight the importance of temporary protections as a basic factor in the healthy conservation of the tissues surrounding the tooth and the future success of subsequent restorative procedures. Given the diversity of techniques, types and materials for existing temporary protection, it is necessary to evaluate them one by one, facilitating the selection of the most appropriate type of temporary protection.
