It also investigates the most current surgical techniques, identifies the different indications and contraindications for using grafts harvested from the chin, and establishes the advantages and disadvantages of using these grafts. The importance of this research lies in understanding the surgical techniques used for autologous chin grafts and, in turn, the indications, contraindications, advantages, and disadvantages of this procedure. Nine scientific articles found in various research sites were reviewed. It was ensured that the author(s) of the article referenced chin graft harvesting techniques used in facial defect reconstruction. Five specific variables were considered: surgical technique applied, indications, contraindications, advantages, and disadvantages. These variables were obtained from each article using a bibliographic data sheet as a survey. The data obtained were then analyzed and tabulated, resulting in percentages. The results found according to the analyzed variables are as follows: Type of chin graft extraction technique. Of the 9 articles, 7 agreed that the most used technique is the block technique (77.7%); only 1 article described the procedure using fragments (11%), and another mentioned both extraction techniques.La revisión bibliográfica pretende determinar el uso de injertos autólogos de mentón en cirugía facial reconstructiva. Así como también investigar las técnicas quirúrgicas más actuales, determinar las diferentes indicaciones y contraindicaciones en el uso de injertos extraídos del mentón y, por último, establecer las ventajas y desventajas en la utilización de dichos injertos. La importancia de esta investigación es conocer las técnicas quirúrgicas utilizadas en injertos autólogos de mentón y, a su vez, las indicaciones, contraindicaciones, ventajas y desventajas de este procedimiento. Se revisaron 9 artículos científicos encontrados en diversos sitios de investigación; se tuvo en cuenta que el autor o autores del artículo referenciaran técnicas de extracción de injerto del mentón utilizadas en reconstrucción de defectos faciales. Se tomaron 5 variables específicas, las cuales fueron: técnica quirúrgica aplicada, indicaciones, contraindicaciones, ventajas y desventajas. Tales variables se obtuvieron de cada uno de los artículos por medio de una ficha bibliográfica usada como encuesta. Posteriormente se analizaron y tabularon los datos obtenidos, logrando porcentajes. Los resultados encontrados según las variables analizadas son los siguientes: Tipo de técnica de extracción de injerto de mentón.
