But have we ever stopped to remember what is the patient's physiologically normal pattern before their pathology occurs? Answering this question, many of us fail, it is important that we remember again and again that it is normal, in order to make a good diagnosis and thus comply with the patient by giving him the indicated treatment, looking for physiological normality in the prognosis, and allowing the patient and us to feel good about the good health work. For this reason I have decided to remember something about dental occlusion and its development. Starting from the most basic aspects of growth and development and ending with occlusal development of the permanent dentition.Los estudiantes de odontología, comprendemos y estudiamos detenidamente las patologías orales, incluyendo las de tejidos blandos y las de tejidos duros, como es el caso de las mal oclusiones dentarias, estudiando también su tratamiento y aprendiendo a descubrir su pronóstico según sea el caso a tratar. Pero, alguna vez nos hemos detenido a recordar ¿Cuál es el patrón fisiológicamente normal del paciente antes de que se presente su patología? Contestándonos esta pregunta, muchos de nosotros fallamos, es importante que recordemos una y otra vez que es normal, para poder hacer un buen diagnóstico y así cumplir con el paciente realizándole el tratamiento indicado, buscando en el pronóstico una normalidad fisiológica, y permitiendo que el paciente y nosotros nos sintamos bien por el buen trabajo de salud. Por esto he decidido recordar algo sobre la oclusión dentaria y su desarrollo.
