Like any surgical technique, it has its specific indications and contraindications and a well-defined classification. Apicoectomy and apical scaling are basic techniques used as an initial step for apical filling and a large part of corrective surgery. Apical filling involves the resection of the root tip and the placement of an apical filling. In apical surgery, we must consider the four basic surgical steps: The first is the proper design of the flap; the second is the appropriate location of the apex; the third is the scraping of chronic inflammatory tissue; and the fourth is the proper suturing of the flap.La Cirugía Apical es una de las técnicas de la cirugía endodóntica que trata dientes con complicaciones periapicales. Como cualquier técnica de cirugía está tiene sus indicaciones y contraindicaciones precisas y una clasificación bien definida. La Apicectomía y el Raspado Apical son técnicas básicas que se utilizan como un paso inicial para la Obturación Apical y gran parte de la cirugía correctora. La Obturación Apical comprende la resección del extremo radicular y la colocación de una obturación apical.
