In this monograph we will summarize in the simplest way everything related to this type of restoration. We will begin by defining these restorations according to various authors and according to our criteria. We will classify the restorations according to their use and preparation and we will include the indications and contraindications given for each case. The various materials used for their preparation will be presented; and it will be suggested which materials are appropriate for the temporary cementation of these restorations; their different uses in clinical practice both in simple treatments and in a general rehabilitation, going through the different topics of dental treatments and their possible manifestations in the oral cavity when they do not meet the minimum requirements in their preparation.Dependiendo de los factores tales como la necesidad, tiempo y economía, el profesional y el estudiante de odontología debe saber elegir el material adecuado para cada uno de los casos clínicos que se presenten, familiarizarse con su manipulación y confección; para así conseguir un resultado ideal en el momento de cementar la restauración temporal como la definitiva. En esta monografía sintetizaremos de la manera más sencilla todo lo relacionado con este tipo de restauración. Iniciaremos definiendo estas restauraciones según diversos autores y según nuestro criterio. Clasificaremos las restauraciones de acuerdo con su uso y elaboración e incluiremos las indicaciones y contraindicaciones dadas para cada caso.
