All molars were indicated for extraction without furcation involvement. In each molar, transverse cuts were made immediately below the furcation, and the crown was trimmed to obtain the furcation area. Using a positive pressure system, the degree of permeability of the furcation area was measured for both primary and permanent molars. The ratio of furcation area permeability in primary to permanent molars was 85.47%, indicating that the degree of permeability is greater in primary molars.El propósito de esta investigación fue estudiar el grado de permeabilidad dentinaria a nivel de furcación en molares temporales y permanentes con respecto a su ubicación en boca y edad de estos. La muestra consistió en 13 segundos molares temporales inferiores de pacientes entre 7 y 10 años y 13 molares permanentes inferiores de pacientes entre 18 a 30 años. Todos los molares tenían indicación de exodoncia sin lesión en furca. En cada molar se realizaron cortes transversales inmediatamente por debajo de la furca y se les recortó la corona para obtener la zona de la furca. Utilizando un sistema de presión positiva, se pudo medir el grado de permeabilidad del área de la furca tanto para molares temporales como para molares permanentes.
