Often, in daily practice, we encounter white or erythematous lesions, which, due to a lack of knowledge, we overlook, thus causing many potentially systemic complications for the patient and greatly hindering the various treatments we may perform in the oral cavity. The goal has been to classify mycoses to more easily study them, into cutaneous, subcutaneous, and systemic forms, evaluating, as far as possible, the incidences each presents in the oral cavity, but also understanding their other locations to enable a differential diagnosis. Many species and genera of fungi have yet to be classified, but an attempt has been made to evaluate those with the greatest implications for the oral cavity. Therefore, it is necessary to acquire a slightly deeper understanding of the field of mycology to be able to recognize the lesions and gain a broader view of the problems that occur in the oral cavity, allowing us to initiate early treatment. but effective through known local and systemic drugs.Se pretende dar una especie de parámetros para conocer las principales enfermedades por hongos, y las diferentes complicaciones que puedan tener. Muchas veces, en la práctica diaria, nos encontramos con lesiones blancas, o eritematosas, que por no tener un conocimiento acerca de ellas, las podemos pasar por alto, trayendo así muchas complicaciones posiblemente sistémicas al paciente, y dificultando mucho, los diferentes tratamientos que vayamos a realizar en cavidad oral. Se ha querido hacer una clasificación de las micosis para estudiarlas más fácilmente, en cutáneas, subcutáneas y sistémicas, evaluando en lo posible las incidencias que presente cada uno en cavidad oral, pero también conociendo sus otras localizaciones para poder así hacer un diagnóstico diferencial. Ha faltado clasificar muchísimas especies y géneros de hongos, pero se ha tratado de evaluar aquellos que tengan mayores implicaciones en cavidad oral.
