Added to this is the risk that this cavity communicates with the pharynx. Furthermore, this surgical field is flooded with saliva and is conditioned by the greatest number and variety of microorganisms found in the human body. It is therefore essential that this phase of oral surgery be accorded the same detailed study and application of refined surgical principles as surgery on any other part of the human body. No operation performed by a dentist is fraught with as much danger to the patient as oral surgery, a large part of which involves tooth extraction.La Exodoncia, de cualquier modo, que se haga, es una intervención quirúrgica que involucra los tejidos blandos y duros de la cavidad bucal, cuyo acceso está restringido por los labios y mejillas y además complicado por los movimientos de la lengua y mandíbula.
