Among the objectives of these interventions are to establish the epidemiological profile of oral health of children in preschool and school stages, and to implement a program for Health Promotion and Prevention of oral disease in schoolchildren of five (5) Educational Institutions (IE) of the municipality of Chía and two (2) of the municipality of Cajicá during the second semester of 2017.Una de las funciones sustantivas contempladas en el Proyecto Educativo Institucional de la Institución Universitaria Colegios de Colombia – UNICOC es la Proyección Social, que dentro de los objetivos que plantea están: “contribuir al desarrollo y progreso sostenible en las comunidades, empresas, estamentos y entidades oficiales y privadas, mediante la Extensión y la Proyección Social” y “fortalecer los vínculos con agentes sociales, empresariales y comunitarios del orden público y privado, para aportar en la solución de sus principales problemas, participar en el planteamiento de las políticas públicas y contribuir en la transformación de la sociedad” .Para cumplir con estos objetivos, el Departamento de Salud Púbica y Proyección Social del Colegio Odontológico desarrolló actividades durante el segundo semestre de 2017, ligadas a la asignatura de Odontología Comunitaria, donde se realizaron intervenciones en los municipios de Chía y Cajicá, con los cuales se tienen convenios de colaboración, con sus respectivos entes gubernamentales.
