It will consider 1996 figures concerning the number of dental schools, program schedules, admission quotas, applications, first-time enrollments in the initial course, total student enrollment across the first and second terms, and the total number of graduates, specifically within the Santafé de Bogotá D.C. area. Based on the aforementioned data and additional statistical reports to be obtained—and taking into account the current reform of the Comprehensive Social Security System—an assessment will be made regarding the economic and employment realities facing current and future dentists. Achieving these objectives will require the use of statistical systems and tools.En el estudio actual a realizar se analizarán datos sobre cifras suministradas por el Departamento Administrativo Nacional de Estadística (DANE), referentes a profesionales de la odontología, teniendo en cuenta datos del año 1996 en cuanto a cantidad de facultades, jornadas, cupos, solicitudes, personas matriculadas por primera vez al primer curso, total de alumnos matriculados en el primer período y segundo período, y total de profesionales egresados y graduados de la misma a nivel de Santafé de Bogotá D.C. Con base en los datos ya mencionados y reportes estadísticos por conseguir, teniendo en cuenta la reforma actual del Sistema de Seguridad Social Integral, se realizará la perspectiva de la realidad económica y laboral de los presentes y futuros odontólogos.
