Their etiology is mainly associated with traffic accidents, physical assaults, sports injuries, and falls. Diagnosis is based on clinical and radiographic evaluation, allowing the identification of the fracture type, degree of displacement, and involved anatomical structures. Treatment aims to restore function, facial aesthetics, and occlusion through reduction, fixation, and reconstruction procedures when necessary. Knowledge of facial anatomy, injury mechanisms, clinical manifestations, and therapeutic alternatives is essential for the proper management of these patients and the prevention of functional and aesthetic complications.Las fracturas de los tercios de los huesos faciales constituyen una de las lesiones más frecuentes en el área maxilofacial y pueden comprometer el tercio superior, medio e inferior de la cara. Su etiología se relaciona principalmente con accidentes de tránsito, agresiones físicas, accidentes deportivos y caídas. El diagnóstico se basa en la evaluación clínica y radiográfica, permitiendo identificar el tipo de fractura, el grado de desplazamiento y las estructuras anatómicas comprometidas. El tratamiento tiene como objetivo restablecer la función, la estética facial y la oclusión mediante procedimientos de reducción, fijación y reconstrucción cuando sea necesario.
