While there are precedents for land restitution worldwide, this paper will address the Mexican Revolution and its contribution to this issue as a review. Five years have passed since the Justice and Peace Law came into effect, and the results so far have not been optimal. Armed revolutionary groups continue to seize land and displace the most vulnerable populations. Those affected are afraid to make claims, and their only recourse is to seek restitution through the ordinary justice system, hoping to eventually return to their places of origin and live in peace in the future.El gobierno colombiano aprobó la ley 1448 de 2011 la cual contiene medidas que permiten la devolución de millones de hectáreas de tierras arrebatadas a las víctimas afectadas per la Violación de los Derechos humanos. Existen antecedentes a nivel mundial de restitución de tierras en este trabajo abordare como reseña de la revolución mexicana y su aporte frente a este tema. Desde la aprobación de la ley de justicia y paz han pasado cinco años de vigencia y los resultados hasta ahora no han sido los mejores, porque sigue existiendo grupos revolucionarios armados que se han apoderado de tierras y desplazan las poblaciones más vulnerables.
