Methods: The search for information was carried out in 4 databases (ISI WEB, EMBASE, SCOPUS, PUBMED) where 280 articles were found, after removing duplicates 228 articles remained. Finally, 7 articles met the inclusion criteria to be analyzed qualitatively. Conclusions: The present systematic review found that there are biological bases to consider intentional reimplantation as a possible treatment in teeth with periodontal compromise with the objective of eliminating the origin of periodontal pathology such as subgingival calculus, and if possible, to perform endodontic therapy at the same time.
