In recent years, it has become clear that this problem is being studied, demonstrating that it is a behavior that causes harm to individuals involved in intimate relationships, regardless of the type of bond between them, whether it be a common-law marriage, a dating relationship, or a marriage. Domestic or intimate partner violence against men appears to be so infrequent that its complexity increases due to the scarcity of reports. This contributes to minimizing the problem in our society, categorizing it as an irrelevant issue that does not require attention or study by the competent authorities. Therefore, it is crucial to call for recognition of the needs, fears, and experiences of men who have been victims of violence. In some relationships, interactions develop that do not align with the ideal of the social imaginary, becoming an environment where violence is presented as a common element used to achieve personal goals. According to the above, such protection should be effective and comprehensive, ensuring the safety of both genders, without comparing men and women, or determining who experiences higher rates of violence and who does not. As mentioned in the research, the aim is to act immediately to curb this problem of domestic or partner violence against men.La relevancia de este estudio se centra en la investigación dentro del ámbito de la violencia intrafamiliar y en pareja, específicamente cuando es víctima el hombre. En los últimos años, ha quedado claro que esta problemática se convirtió en un acontecimiento que esta siendo estudiado, lo cual muestra que se trata de un comportamiento que causa daño a las personas involucradas en una relación íntima, independientemente del tipo de vínculo que exista entre ellas, ya sea en una unión marital de hecho, un noviazgo o un matrimonio. La violencia intrafamiliar o de pareja contra los hombres parece ser tan poco frecuente que su complejidad aumenta debido a la escasez de denuncias. Esto contribuye a que este problema sea minimizado en nuestra sociedad, catalogándola como un asunto sin relevancia que no requiere atención ni estudio por parte de las autoridades competentes. Por lo tanto, es crucial hacer un llamado para reconocer las necesidades, miedos y vivencias de los hombres que han sido víctimas de violencia. En algunas relaciones de pareja, estas se desarrollan a través de interacciones que no se alinean con el ideal del imaginario social, convirtiéndose en un entorno donde la violencia se presenta como un elemento habitual utilizado para alcanzar objetivos personales.
