Some of these complications are unavoidable and transitory as the mucositis or the loss of the taste, however, others can be permanent as xerostomia, caries, lockjaw or osteonecrosis. In this sense the odontologist should have a productive participation in the patient's global care carrying out a group of measures to prevent these complications. In this article it is carried out a revision of the different oral manifestations caused by the treatments of oncological therapy and the handling and dental cares are described, so much of the patients subject to these treatments like of each one of the colateral effects that these generate in the oral cavity.Los tratamientos intensivos contra la leucemia, ya sea por quimioterapia o radioterapia, pueden originar importantes lesiones en la cavidad oral que van a condicionar el tratamiento dental en función a factores físicos y técnicos, y en función del estado buco dentario previo del paciente. Algunas de estas complicaciones son inevitables y transitorias como la mucositis o la pérdida del gusto, sin embargo, otras pueden ser permanentes como la xerostomía, las caries, el trismo o la osteonecrosis. En este sentido el odontólogo puede tener una participación productiva en el cuidado global del enfermo llevando a cabo un conjunto de medidas que prevengan estas complicaciones.
