After completion of these treatments, patients had only received a follow-up appointment immediately after the delivery of their prostheses. Therefore, this study clinically analyzed the possible maladaptations, pathologies, alterations, and successes of the prostheses present in the oral cavity, taking into account both the patients’ oral hygiene and the maintenance performed on the prostheses themselves. The purpose of this study was to identify the factors that contributed to the success or failure of a prosthesis. A total of 47 patients who had received complete and/or removable prosthodontic treatments between 1998 and 1999 were included in the study population. The results showed that female patients were the group that most frequently attended clinical follow-up appointments. The predominant age range was between 55 and 59 years, with most patients having an incomplete secondary-school education and belonging to socioeconomic stratum 2. Among these patients, the most common systemic condition was associated with the use of removable partial dentures, with an average period of use of three years. Most of the prostheses evaluated were found to be in good condition.
