The gender of the dentist treating them is irrelevant to most of them. Schizophrenic patients experience greater fear and anxiety than the average person; therefore, the dentist must be especially careful in their care and understand their illness, feelings, and behaviors. Catatonic and disorganized schizophrenic patients do not allow themselves to be treated, are afraid of being in the dentist's office, and, in the case of the catatonic type, may exhibit aggressive behavior.La mayoría de los pacientes esquizofrénicos no acuden al dentista voluntariamente, pero saben por qué y para qué están allí.
