Calendula Officinalis has therapeutic qualities, therefore it should be considered as a complement to analgesics and antibiotics in the postoperative therapy of surgical procedures in dentistry, contributing to the improvement of the healing process, with reduction of pain, inflammation, bleeding, and additionally absence of infection and adverse effects. This study aims to determine the effect of a marigold-based rinse in postoperative therapy following the extraction of impacted third molars.Es importante que al realizar procedimientos quirúrgicos, el odontólogo tenga en cuenta en la terapia posoperatorio cuando se han lesionado los tejidos, el uso de enjuagues bucales como coadyuvantes, que le brinden al paciente el mayor número de beneficios, entre los cuales deben estar menor tiempo de sangrado, disminución en el dolor, ausencia de rubor, tumor e infección, y que no se presente pérdida de la función, que en conjunto converjan en un menor tiempo de cicatrización, sin efectos colaterales que afecten la salud o la estética del paciente. La Calendula Officinalis posee cualidades terapéuticas, por ende debe ser tenida en cuenta como complemento a los analgésicos y antibióticos en la terapia posoperatoria de los procedimientos quirúrgicos en odontología, contribuyendo con la mejoría del proceso de cicatrización, con disminución del dolor, inflamación, sangrado, adicionalmente ausencia de infección y efectos adversos.
