Thus, a good shade selection and an appropriate morphology compared to the natural teeth that will be limiting the restoration guarantee the success of our work. In most cases, what brings the patient to our office is the loss of aesthetics, not function. Thus, the success of the restoration depends not only on the dentist but also on the laboratory technician, who must be meticulous and methodical in following all the techniques to ensure the restoration is successful. Ceramic is probably the first material artificially produced by humans; porcelain was undoubtedly the first material to be subjected to laboratory research by scientists.La porcelana dental es uno de los biomateriales con el que mejor se puede reproducir el color de los dientes; así, una buena elección del color y una morfología adecuada con respecto a los dientes naturales que van a estar limitando la restauración, nos garantizan el éxito de nuestro trabajo; porque en la mayoría de los casos, lo que lleva al paciente a nuestro consultorio es la perdida de la estética y no de la función. De esta manera el éxito de la restauración este dado, no solo por el odontólogo sino por el laboratorista, porque el debe ser meticuloso y metódico al seguir todas las técnicas para no fallar en la restauración.
