To this end, a culture was performed using strains obtained from the National Institute of Health (INS) on specific anaerobic media. These microorganisms were identified through morphological characterization and Gram staining. The microorganisms obtained from the INS were anaerobic Peptostreptococcus, Fusobacterium nucleatum, Bacteroides fragilis, and Porphyromonas endothelia. The diffusion test was performed on the aforementioned bacteria using Wilkins Chalgren agar and sensitivity discs of 25 µg amoxicillin, 5 µg metronidazole, 2 µg clindamycin, and 15 µg erythromycin. When observing the microorganisms' reaction to antimicrobials, the following was found: Porphyromonas endodontalis was sensitive to amoxicillin, while Bacteroides fragilis, F. nucleatum, and P. anaerobius were resistant. Bacteroides fragilis was sensitive to metronidazole, while F. nucleatum, Porphyromonas endodontalis, and P. anaerobius were resistant. Erythromycin showed that B. fragilis, F. nucleatum, and P. endodontalis were sensitive, while P. anaerobius was resistant. B. fragilis was resistant to clindamycin, while the other three microorganisms were sensitive to the antibiotic. Effectiveness of clindamycin, metronidazole, erythromycin and amoxicillin in vitro against strict anaerobes present in dentoalveolar abscessestext::thesis::bachelor thesisTO 0682MicroorganismsAntibioticsStrainsTreatmentopenAccess
