This situation compels all professionals, and particularly general and specialized dentists, to implement continuous learning strategies throughout their professional lives. These strategies allow them to access information and be promptly aware of advances in their field. This allows them to offer their patients the best alternatives for maintaining or improving their quality of life, without necessarily implying a prolonged interruption of their daily activities (REPMAN & ROOZE, 1994). This research aims, on the one hand, to design and build a multimedia educational tool for learning the Protaper Manual Endodontic Preparation and Obturation System, presenting in it in an organized and didactic manner the procedural contents of this technique, so that it constitutes an educational tool that facilitates access to this current information for today's endodontist. (RUDDLE CJ. 2005)Las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación facilitan la divulgación y el acceso a la gran cantidad de información científica que se produce permanentemente y hacen a la vez, que la condición de actualidad de la misma sea cada vez más volátil. (REPMAN & ROOZE 1994). Esta condición hace que todo profesional y particularmente el odontólogo general y especializado, se vea obligado a implementar estrategias de aprendizaje continuo durante su vida profesional, que le permitan acercarse a la información y conocer oportunamente los avances que se produzcan en su área disciplinar, de tal manera que pueda ofrecer a sus pacientes las mejores alternativas para el mantenimiento o mejoramiento de su calidad de vida, sin que eso signifique necesariamente la interrupción prolongada de sus actividades diarias. Esta investigación se propone, por una parte, diseñar y construir una herramienta educativa multimedial para el aprendizaje del Sistema de Preparación y obturación Endodóntica Protaper Manual, presentando en ella de manera organizada y didáctica los contenidos procedimentales propios de esta técnica, de tal manera que se constituya en una herramienta educativa que facilite el acceso a esta información de actualidad para el endodoncista de hoy.
