The purpose of this study was to evaluate, compare, and determine the clinical stability of the results obtained with both techniques over 6 months. The recessions were treated as follows: 9 cases with GPT and 9 cases with SCTG, randomly assigned to each group. At the time of the study, the initial gingival recession was 3–7 mm for both techniques. The treated areas were evaluated post-surgically at 30, 60, 90, and 180 days. The percentage of root coverage at 6 months was 67% for the GPTTG technique and 60% for the SCTG technique. The findings regarding evaluation times showed a statistically significant difference at 60 days, favoring the use of RTPG (79%) versus ITCS (70%), respectively. The average root coverage was 3 mm for RTPG and 2.78 mm for ITCS; the average residual gingival recession at 6 months was 1.44 mm for RTPG and 2 mm for the ITCS technique. Clinically, the results of this research demonstrate that RTPG exhibits effective clinical performance for the treatment of gingival recessions in terms of root coverage (3 mm) and clinical attachment gain (3 mm), while stability favored the clinical performance of ITCS. Therefore, this research concludes that, in terms of clinical effectiveness and predictability, both procedures show similar results at six months of follow-up.Dos procedimientos, la técnica del Injerto de Tejido Conectivo Subepitelial (ITCS) y la Regeneración Tisular Periodontal Guiada (RTPG) fueron realizados en 18 recesiones gingivales clase I y II de Miller en pacientes adultos sanos. El propósito de este estudio fue evaluar, comparar y determinar la estabilidad clínica de los resultados obtenidos en ambas técnicas durante 6 meses. Las recesiones fueron tratadas: 9 casos mediante RTPG y 9 casos con ITCS, asignados al azar en cada grupo. Al momento del estudio, la recesión gingival inicial fue de 3-7 mm para ambas técnicas. Las áreas tratadas fueron postquirúrgicamente evaluadas a 30, 60, 90 y 180 días. El porcentaje de cubrimiento radicular a los 6 meses fue de 67% para la técnica de RTPG y de 60% para la técnica de ITCS. Los hallazgos respecto a los tiempos de evaluación reportaron diferencia estadísticamente significativa a 60 días favoreciendo el uso RTPG (79%) versus ITCS (70°/o) respectivamente. El promedio de cobertura radicular fue de 3 mm para RTPG y de 2.78 mm para el ITCS; el promedio de recesión gingival residual a 6 meses fue de 1,44 mm para RTPG y 2 mm para la técnica de ITCS. Clínicamente los resultados en la investigación demuestran que la RTPG presenta un comportamiento clínico eficaz para el tratamiento de recesiones gingivales en términos de cobertura radicular (3mm) y ganancia clínica de inserción (3mm) mientras la estabilidad favoreció el comportamiento clínico del ITCS.
