Two recordings were performed, T1 and T2 using BNP1 appliance prior to cheilorrhaphy surgical procedure and T1, T2 with BNP3 appliance post-surgical after cheilorrhaphy surgery. The measurement used as reference was the fissure in the widest part of the space in the middle zone, between the right palatine bone and the left palatine bone. RESULTS: A significant difference in fissure closure was found between T1 and T2 of BNP1 and BNP3, with an average closure of 8 mm in BNP1 and 6 mm in BNP3. At the end of the treatment with the BNP3 system it was evidenced that no patient presented fistula or posterior crossbite. CONCLUSIONS: The BNP1 and BNP3 system, provides, the possibility of generating structural changes in a transverse sense by reducing the width of the unilateral complete cleft lip and palate in patients with LPHU, being this an alternative for the management of pre and post-surgical pathologyOBJETIVO: Comparar los cambios estructurales en sentido transversal de la fisura labial y palatina completa unilateral, mediante el tratamiento pre y posquirúrgico de ortopedia funcional con el sistema BNP1 y BNP3 METODOS: Estudio de tipo transversal, en el cual se utilizó una muestra de modelos en yeso de pacientes tratados con los sistemas de Biomodeladores Nasopalatinos prequirúrgicos (BNP1) y posquirúrgico (BNP3), obtenidos de una muestra de 38 pacientes diagnosticados con labio y paladar hendido (LPH) unilateral. Se realizaron dos registros, T1 y T2 utilizando aparatología BNP1 previo procedimiento quirúrgico de queilorafia y T1, T2 con aparatología BNP3 postquirúrgico después de cirugía de queilorafia. La medida usada como referencia fue la fisura en la parte más ancha del espacio en la zona media, entre el hueso palatino derecho y el hueso palatino izquierdo. RESULTADOS: se encontró una diferencia significativa en el cierre de la fisura entre T1 y T2 de BNP1 Y BNP3, con un cierre en promedio de 8 mm en BNP1 Y 6 mm en BNP3. Al finalizar el tratamiento con el sistema BNP3 se evidenció que ningún paciente presento fístula o mordida cruzada posterior.
