M. C. R. C. S. and U/P (Grossman). It has been observed that new endodontic fillings project a very different radiographic image than others, which raises doubts about the hermetic seal that should be achieved between the obturation material and the dentin wall of the canal. Thirty-six anterior single-rooted human teeth were selected and divided into four groups. Each group of nine teeth was obturated with a different cement, then filled with Beta gutta-percha using lateral and deep vertical condensation. Radiographic density was assessed using digital imaging with a tooth positioner (Appendix) in two projections: longitudinal and transverse, 0.5 mm from the root apex. The results indicated that all cements absorb radiation <5% and that there is no statistically significant difference in radiation absorption between them. It is concluded that the cement layer applied is so thin that it is not perceptible for macroscopic assessment using digital imaging and that the use of the positioner is ideal for this type of study. Radiation absorption capacity of endodontic cements assessed by direct digital imaging.text::thesis::bachelor thesisTEN 012StudyInvestigationTeethopenAccess
