For this reason, in this clinical case, we have focused on one of the most common fungal infections of the oral cavity: Candida albicans. This article covers its history, etiology, pathogenesis, clinical characteristics, histopathology, treatment, and prognosis. Following the treatment of candidiasis, we will perform a surgical procedure consisting of multiple extractions, bone remodeling, and finally, prosthodontic rehabilitation with complete upper and lower dentures. Through this introduction, we hope to encourage readers to engage with our supporting literature, which we believe will be very useful and important during their consultation.En nuestra práctica odontológica podemos darnos cuenta de que muchos pacientes presentan diversas alteraciones patológicas debido al uso prolongado y mala higiene de sus prótesis, por esta razón nos hemos enfocado en este caso clínico a una de las infecciones micóticas más comunes de cavidad oral como es la Candida albicans, plasmando en su contenido la historia, etiología, patogenia, características clínicas, histopatología, tratamiento y pronóstico. Posterior al tratamiento de la candidiasis, realizaremos un procedimiento quirúrgico consistente en exodoncias múltiples, remodelado óseo y finalmente rehabilitación prostodóntica con prótesis total superior e inferior.
