These techniques include: selective grinding, orthodontics and orthopedics, functional dental surgery, fixed partial prosthetics, removable partial prosthetics, and splints. It also includes some very important concepts about occlusion, as it is essential to understand the normal, and even ideal, characteristics of occlusion, without which it would not be possible to perform good restorative dentistry for oral rehabilitation. Occlusal balancing techniques are a set of therapeutic procedures that dentistry uses to transform a functionally pathological occlusion (occlusal dysfunction) into a physiologically normal occlusion, in normal and functional harmony with the rest of the individual's stomatognathic system.Se describe cada una de las técnicas utilizadas para el equilibrio oclusal, así como también sus principios, indicaciones, diagnósticos haciendo énfasis en los procedimientos para cada una de ellas. Estas técnicas son: tallado selectivo, ortodoncia y ortopedia, operatoria dental funcional, prótesis parcial fija, prótesis parcial removible y férulas. Incluye también algunos conceptos muy importantes sobre oclusión, ya que es esencial conocer las características normales, y hasta ideales de la oclusión, sin las cuales no sería posible realizar una buena odontología restauradora de rehabilitación oral.
