Likewise, ecotourism is defined according to (The World Conservation Union, 2018) as: “Responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment, maintains the well-being of the local population and involves interpretation and education.” The central region and more specifically Cundinamarca as a result of its biodiversity, according to the Colombian Tourism Promotion Fund and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism in 2019 Cundinamarca is “a land privileged by nature, today an attractive destination for ecotourism lovers and those who simply enjoy being in the middle of these beautiful natural spaces.” Tourism, as a contributor to the global and national economy, taking into account its performance statistics, its supply chain, which can vary depending on the services offered to users, and its classifications, has an important branch of study: ecotourism. Likewise, through the various national and international entities involved in the field, statistics can be identified that allow us to assess tourist traffic with a focus on the European population. Finally, the ecotourism outlook offered by the region has a characterization and guidelines that identify what Cundinamarca has in the aforementioned area of ​​study.Se puede definir en primera instancia al turismo de la siguiente manera: “El turismo es un fenómeno social, cultural y económico relacionado con el movimiento de las personas a lugares que se encuentran fuera de su lugar de residencia habitual, normalmente por motivos de ocio”. Asimismo el ecoturismo se define según (La Unión Mundial para la Naturaleza, 2018) como: “El viaje responsable a áreas naturales que conserva el medio ambiente, mantiene el bienestar de la población local e implica interpretación y educación.” La región central y más específicamente Cundinamarca como resultado de su biodiversidad, según el Fondo de Promoción Turística Colombia y Ministerio de Comercio, Industria y Turismo en el afio 2019 Cundinamarca es “tierra privilegiada por la naturaleza, hoy destino atractivo por los amantes del ecoturismo y quienes simplemente disfrutan estar en medio de estos hermosos espacios naturales”. El turismo como contribuyente a la economía global y nacional teniendo en cuenta las estadísticas de su desempeño, su cadena de abastecimiento que puede ser variante dentro de los servicios que involucre el usuario y sus tipificaciones cuenta con una rama importante como objeto de estudio en este artículo que es el ecoturismo. Así mismo, mediante las diferentes entidades nacionales e internacionales involucradas en la materia, se puede identificar estadísticas que permiten valorar el movimiento de turistas con un enfoque hacia la población europea.
