The global incidence of oral cancers is estimated at 4 cases per 100,000 people, however, there is high variability by geographic area. Objective: to identify the quality of life related to oral health and oral treatment needs perceived by patients with a history of oral cancer living in the municipality of Tuluá – Valle del Cauca. Methods: corresponds to a descriptive observational study. The starting point was a population of 35 patients, and a sample of six (6) was consulted through a survey in which the instrument "Impact of Oral Health on Quality of Life" (OHIP-14) was included. Results: of the six patients who responded, 83% were women and 17% were men. The minimum age was 36 years, the maximum was 77. Regarding the result of the application of the OHIP-14, the lowest score was 6 and the highest was 44; The latter corresponded to a 50-year-old woman, who resides in a stratum 2 home, she is unemployed at the date of the survey and lives in a family home. On average, for the six patients, the score was 15 points. Regarding the perceived needs for oral health treatment, it was asked if they are currently undergoing oral rehabilitation treatment, 100% responded negatively, it was asked if they currently use intraoral and extraoral prostheses, 33% stated that they use them. Likewise, the need for treatment was investigated regardless of whether or not they have a prosthesis, 100% demonstrated that they need some additional dental treatment. Conclusions: the history of oral cancer impacts the health of patients, not all have the same perception regarding quality of life, however, all agree on the need for oral treatment.El cáncer oral abarca los desarrollados en la región labial, las mucosas orales, la lengua y la orofaringe. La incidencia mundial de los cánceres orales está estimada en 4 casos por cada 100.000 personas, sin embargo, existe una alta variabilidad por zona geográfica. Objetivo: identificar la calidad de vida relacionada con la salud oral y necesidades de tratamiento oral percibidos por pacientes antecedentes de cáncer oral radicados en el municipio de Tuluá – Valle del Cauca. Métodos: corresponde a un estudio observacional descriptivo. Se partió de una población de 35 pacientes, y se consultó una muestra de seis (6) a través de una encuesta en la que se incluyó el instrumento "Impacto de la Salud Oral en la Calidad de Vida" (OHIP-14). Resultados: de los seis pacientes que contestaron el 83% corresponde a mujeres y 17% a hombres. La edad mínima fue de 36 años, la máxima 77. En cuanto al resultado de la aplicación del OHIP-14, el puntaje más bajo fue de 6 y el más alto fue de 44; este último correspondió a una mujer de 50 años de edad, que reside en una vivienda de estrato 2, está desempleada a la fecha de la encuesta y vive en casa familiar. En promedio, para los seis pacientes, el puntaje se ubicó en 15 puntos. Respecto a las necesidades percibidas de tratamiento en salud oral se consultó si actualmente se encuentran en un tratamiento de rehabilitación oral, el 100% respondió negativamente, se indagó si actualmente usan prótesis intraorales y extraorales el 33% afirmó utilizarlas. Así mismo, se indagó sobre la necesidad de tratamiento independientemente si tiene o no prótesis, el 100% consideró que necesita algún tratamiento odontológico adicional.
