Genetic improvement, increased productivity, and enhanced utilization have been ongoing since humans first domesticated them. This process has undoubtedly been the result of careful selection, seeking the highest possible production and benefits from every perspective. However, this species has been largely overlooked in the field of dentistry, perhaps due to a lack of trained personnel to perform these treatments. Considering the significant service this species provides to humans, the possibility of providing dental care to cattle cannot be dismissed. This research aims to explore this area to determine if there is a need for dental treatment in cattle to benefit these animals. El mejoramiento tanto genético como su rendimiento y la utilización misma se viene desarrollando desde el momento en que hombre logro domesticarlo por primera vez. Este proceso ha sido sin lugar a duda, el resultado de una selección cuidadosa buscando desde todo punto de vista la mayor producción y beneficios posibles. Pero se ha visto que esta especie ha sido ignorada en el campo de la odontología, tal vez porque no hay personal capacitado para realizar estos tratamientos. Teniendo en cuenta que esta especie presta un gran servicio al hombre, no se puede descartar la posibilidad de que sea atendida a nivel odontológico. Esta investigación pretende incursionar en esta área para establecer si existe la necesidad de realizar tratamiento en bovinos con el fin de aportar beneficios a estos animales.
