Healing, the response to injury, represents an attempt to maintain normal structure and function within anatomical conditions. Using elements not directly related to the human body, efforts have been made to make this healing process faster, more economical, and more accessible to people in their daily lives. Among these products, the use and importance of panela (unrefined cane sugar) as a healing agent in rural areas, used by our parents and ancestors, stands out. Based on the empirical use of panela as a healing agent, the aim has been to scientifically demonstrate its effectiveness at the clinical and histological levels, as well as the changes it may or may not produce in tissue anatomy.El hombre está expuesto constantemente a agresiones que pueden producir muerte y destrucción de los tejidos. La curación, respuesta a la lesión, representa un intento encaminado a mantener normales la estructura y la función dentro de condiciones anatómicas. A partir de elementos secundarios al cuerpo humano se ha querido llevar esa curación a procesos más rápidos, económicos y accesibles al ser humano en su vida cotidiana. Dentro de estos productos se resalta el uso e importancia dada a la panela como producto cicatrizante en las zonas rurales y usada por nuestros padres y antepasados.
