The modified Bramante method was used to compare the canals before and after instrumentation. The roots were embedded in clear acrylic resin and sectioned at three levels (coronal, middle, and apical). In the first group (E1), the canals were instrumented with a Lightspeed rotary nickel-titanium file using the manufacturer's described technique. In group E2, the canals were prepared with Profile .04 Series 29 nickel-titanium rotary files using the manufacturer's recommended technique; in group C, the control was instrumented with stainless steel K-type manual files using the step-back technique. Photographs were taken before and after instrumentation, measuring the distal wall thickness. The rotary instruments (Lightspeed and Profile .04 Series 29) left significantly greater distal wall thickness than the stainless steel K-type manual files. The condition of the rotary instruments, as observed under SEM at various magnifications before and after instrumentation, appeared to be good. The rotary instrumentation time with the Lightspeed and Profile .04 Series 29 files was shorter than that of the manual K-type files. Effect of two new rotary nickel-titanium instruments on distal, root wall of curved mesial canals in lower first molars after instrumentation.text::thesis::bachelor thesisTEN 018Primeros Molares InferioresRotary InstrumentationCurved CanalsK-type FilesopenAccess
