This document is based on the investigation of the behavior of the textile market within the Free Trade Agreement between Colombia and the United States, in which are stored graphs and data from 2009 to 2022, which help us understand the context of a before and after the signing of said treaty in 2012. The investigation is based on the history of imports and exports of the sector, which will be used as a basis for developing the specific trade balance of tariff chapter number 62 which refers to "Garments and accessories (Accessories), clothing, except knitting". When each of these are developed, they will be a tool to make an approach to the trends within the market and considering the quantitative information or context of the market in the different periods, which generates a more structured recognition of the situation, to connect and allow to develop inferences and analysis with a level of assertiveness more appropriate to the study.Desde sus inicios el sector ha demostrado que es uno de los puntos fuertes que el gobierno considera importante para la reactivación económica del país, ya que por medio de tiempos difíciles ha evidenciado con cifras que es capaz de sobrellevar estos, apuntando a ser unos de los sectores con mayor contribución en cuanto a empleo, desarrollo e innovación, de la mano de beneficios que brinda el TLC, pero que a su vez es muy vulnerable por consecuencia de las elevadas importaciones de materias primas de países pioneros en este, los cuales le han restado competitividad a este sector en el país. Este documento se basa en la investigación del comportamiento del mercado textil dentro del Tratado de libre comercio entre Colombia y Estados Unidos, en este se encuentran almacenados gráficos y datos del año 2009 hasta el año 2022, los cuales nos ayudan a entender el contexto de un antes y un después de la firma de dicho tratado en el 2012. La investigación se enfoca en el histórico de las exportaciones e importaciones del sector, la cual se utilizará como base para desarrollar la balanza comercial específica del capítulo arancelario número 62 el cual se refiere a "Prendas y complementos (Accesorios), de vestir, excepto lo de punto".
