A census of the records present at the time of the investigation was carried out, and data were obtained from 1690 medical records, regarding age, sex, race, reason for consultation, skeletal, dental, and facial characteristics, and treatment evaluation. It was found that the population that consults most frequently are young women between 10 and 19 years old interested in their aesthetics; whose skeletal characteristics are: Close II, with prognathism, and maxillary micrognathism: dentally Close I molar and Close II conyle, vestibuloversion of upper and lower incisors, facially convex profile and biprochelia. Most underwent orthodontic treatment and therapeutic extractions (42%), 18% of the treatments were completed within a period of 13-24 months; the most frequently used retention was removable upper and fixed lower.Este es un estudio retrospectivo, cuyo objetivo fue describir las características sociodemográficas clínicas, consignadas en las historias clínicas de la población atendida en el postgrado de Ortodoncia y Ortopedia Maxilar del C.O.C, de 1994 a 19998, e iniciar la confirmación de una base de datos que permita utilizar la información allí registrada. Se realizó un censo de las historias presentes al momento de la investigación y se obtuvieron los datos de 1690 historias clínicas, en cuanto edad, sexo, raza, motivo de consulta, características esqueléticas, dentales y faciales, evaluación del tratamiento. Se encontró que la población que más consulta son jóvenes entre 10- 19 años, mujeres interesadas en su estética; cuyas características esqueléticas son: Close II, con prognatismo, y microorganismo maxilar: dentalmente close I molar y close II canino, vestibuloversión de incisivos, superiores e inferiores, facialmente perfil convexo y biproquelia.
