The main stocks on the Colombian Stock Exchange were characterized and classified according to their economic sector, allowing for a comparative view of different industries represented in the Colombian stock market. Once completed, volatility and correlation with the COLCAP index were calculated using beta, standard deviation, and linear correlation, indicators that allow for the identification of financial behavior patterns and sensitivity to the market. This behavior was also analyzed by sector to understand how the Colombian stock market functionsEste trabajo tiene como propósito evaluar la volatilidad y el riesgo de las acciones que cotizan actualmente en la Bolsa de Valores de Colombia, comprendiendo los precios diarios de las acciones, desde el primer semestre del 2021, hasta el primer semestre del 2025, con el fin de analizar su desempeño sectorial. Se caracterizaron las principales acciones de la Bolsa de Valores de Colombia y se clasificaron según su sector económico, lo que permitió establecer una visión comparativa de diferentes industrias representadas en el mercado bursátil colombiano. Una vez concluido, se calculó la volatilidad y la correlación con el índice COLCAP por medio de cálculos del beta, desviación estándar y correlación lineal, indicadores que permiten identificar patrones de comportamiento financiero y sensibilidad frente al mercado.
