This was a double-blind study involving 30 patients. The three anesthetic solutions were blinded by a third person. Fifteen patients received one of the three solutions using the Akinosi technique, and the other 15 received the CAMB, using a suction carpule syringe and a 31 mm needle. The onset of soft tissue anesthesia was measured with a digital clock from the moment the needle was withdrawn until the onset of tingling in the lip and tongue. The onset of deep anesthesia was verified with ethyl chloride. Statistically, no significant differences were found among the three solutions; however, statistically significant differences were observed in the duration of the anesthetic effect for mepivacaine and in the painless procedure performed with the Akinosi technique. Evaluation between mepivacaine 2% with levonordefrin 1:20000, prilocaine 4% with epinephrine 1:200,000 and lidocaine 2% with epinephrine 1:100,000 using the anesthetic techniques of akinosi and conventional alveolar, mandibular block.text::thesis::bachelor thesisTEN 019MepivacaineLidocainePrilocaineAkinosi TechniqueMandibular AnesthesiaopenAccess
