In this literature review, we attempt to compile the studies and experiments carried out by various authors of different nationalities who have used a variety of materials and methods to demonstrate the achievement of a new attachment of injured periodontal tissues. The major dilemma has arisen with the emergence of a new concept, which lies in the biological, physical, and functional parity of the new attachment with respect to the long epithelial attachment. The oral mucosa is composed of three zones: the gingiva and the lining of the hard palate, known as the masticatory mucosa; the dorsum of the tongue, covered by a specialized mucosa; and the buccal mucosa that lines the rest of the oral cavity.Después de realizar estudios e investigaciones que se remontan al año 76 y 77, y conociendo más a fondo resultados de estudios más serios a partir del año 1982 hasta nuestros días; sobre la búsqueda de una verdadera nueva inserción de tejidos periodontales traumatizados. En esta revisión Bibliográfica, tratamos de recopilar los estudios y experimentos realizados por diversos Autores de diferentes Nacionalidades que han utilizado una variedad de materiales y métodos para lograr demostrar la consecución de una nueva inserción de tejidos periodontales lesionados. El gran dilema se nos ha presentado en la aparición de un nuevo concepto, el cual radica en la paridad biológica, física y funcional de la nueva inserción con respecto a la adherencia epitelial larga.
