Unfortunately, resins and amalgams do not offer sufficient abrasion resistance; they exhibit microleakage and potential sensitivity due to material shrinkage. Because of these problems, restorations such as porcelain veneers and inlays have been considered. These offer superior aesthetics, strength, and adaptation, while also preserving more healthy tooth structure. Understanding their fabrication, clinical and laboratory techniques, case selection, aftercare, post-placement recommendations, and proper cementation is crucial. While their cost is higher than other restorations, their functionality and aesthetics justify the investment.A partir de esta investigación se pretende dar a conocer a los estudiantes de odontología y a los odontólogos un modelo teórico que aporte la estructura necesaria para permitir un proceso creativo en el diseño y elaboración de restauraciones estéticas. Desafortunadamente las resinas, amalgamas, no ofrecen la suficiente resistencia a la abrasión; presentan microfiltración y posible sensibilidad causada por la contracción del material.
