Therefore, a pre- and post-irradiation patient management protocol was created for consideration in dental practice. Within the percentage of neoplasms, head and neck tumors represent a relatively low percentage of 7%, but they are of great importance to the survival of all patients due to the multiple deformities or sequelae of the disease and its treatment. The scope of the information includes the management of different studies, which were interpreted to achieve a better understanding of the pathologies found in irradiated patients. However, the greatest complication was gaining access to the sites where these patients are treated, since their medical records are legal documents, which hinders access and obstructs the research process.Los estudios realizados en este trabajo revelan el manejo de pacientes que se someterán a radioterapia, los efectos que esta produce en la cavidad oral y sus estructuras anatómicas, lo cual es importante para un diagnóstico preciso y el desarrollo de un plan de tratamiento adecuado. Por lo tanto, se creó un protocolo de manejo del paciente pre y post irradiación para su consideración en la práctica odontológica. Dentro del porcentaje de neoplasias, los tumores de cabeza y cuello representan un porcentaje relativamente bajo del 7%, pero son de gran importancia para la supervivencia de todos los pacientes debido a las múltiples deformidades o secuelas de la enfermedad y su tratamiento.
