This will make restorative procedures easier, as a pulpless tooth tends to be more fragile. When a tooth requires the placement of a post to retain a reconstructive restoration, careful attention must be paid to the anatomy and amount of remaining tissue to select the appropriate post for its design. This includes the shape, length, and placement method. In this study, we will consider the important role cores play in the retention and functionality of endodontically treated teeth. We aimed to review and compare the advantages and disadvantages of cast and prefabricated cores.Existen diferentes técnicas para rehabilitar los dientes tratados endodónticamente, y así incrementar la estabilidad. Esto llevará a hacer más fácil los procedimientos restaurativos, debido a que un diente sin pulpa tiende a ser más frágil, cuando un diente necesita la colocación de un poste para retener un reconstructor se debe prestar mucha atención a la anatomía, cantidad de tejido remanente para seleccionar el poste adecuado a su diseño. Este incluye la forma longitud y método de colocación.
