To understand how smuggling has evolved to levels where its regulation is often lacking and, in others, where authorities struggle to counteract its effects on the economy. Today, the textile sector in Colombia is one of the most developed in the country, generating a significant amount of employment and contributing valuable positive effects to economic growth not only in Colombia but also across the continent. Over the years, textile companies in Colombia have been able to enter different international markets, establishing distribution points for their products, competing with various foreign companies, and also entering the world of fashion and runways. This tells us that the social and economic development that this industry has generated has been positive for the country in the last period, being harmed by the repercussions that smuggling has had on it. With this, we can detail how this illegal modality works, what its causes and consequences are, becoming a point of attention to take into account in the industry, being able to establish how globalization is part of the textile sector and how it adapts day by day to be able to meet the expectations and requirements that this Methodology faces.El objetivo de este trabajo es el de analizar y determinar cuáles son los principales efectos del contrabando en la industria textil colombiana y cómo este fenómeno ha llegado a mezclarse en la economía nacional, afectando tanto a empresarios como a los empleados. Poder conocer y entender cómo ha evolucionado el contrabando a niveles donde su regulación llega a no tener contundencia en muchos casos y en otros donde las autoridades luchan por contrarrestar los efectos que este conlleva en la economía. Hoy en día el sector textil en Colombia es de los más desarrollados del país siendo uno de los que genera una gran cantidad de empleo y aportando valiosos efectos positivos al crecimiento económico no solo en Colombia sino en el continente, durante estos años las empresas de textiles en Colombia han podido introducirse en diferentes mercados internacionales llegando a establecer puntos de distribución de sus productos, llegando a competir con diferentes compañías extranjeras además de poder entrar al mundo de la moda y las pasarelas.
